Our region
Provence-Alpes-Our mission
Create and sustain gardens that enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
We reveal the character of a place by bringing together your way of life, the available resources and the balance of the living world.
To preserve that intention, we share a way of reading the garden, practical skills and seasonal guidance with the owner, caretaker or estate team. So they can act with confidence between our visits.

Norman de Sousa
Founder of OrizonA note from the founder
I am Norman de Sousa. My belief is simple: a garden should bring pleasure, make daily life easier and gain value over time.
My passion for nature, ethnobotany and ornithology shapes the way I see. It teaches me to notice the seasons, the relationships between plants and people, and the quiet balances of the living world.
Arriving in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in 2007, I was struck by its distinctive landscapes. Work with several local businesses taught me to respond to its soils, heat and limited water. Experience in the luxury sector refined my methods, attention to detail and ability to listen.
In 2014, I founded my business to pursue a personal approach rooted in care and a deep understanding of each place.
Today, Orizon gives a clearer voice to what I have practised for years: connecting advice, design, landscaping and care. I am refocusing on that continuity, with my team and the contractors I support.
Understanding how you wish to live in your garden, then sharing the knowledge that helps you care for it: that is the thread of my commitment.
Why choose Orizon?
A garden takes time and investment. We help you choose what matters and keep a clear direction.
Separate what is essential from what can wait and what would not create lasting value.
Compare scenarios, understand their implications and make an informed decision.
Reveal the potential of what is already there before considering wholesale transformation.
Consider water, care, plant growth and changing uses from the outset.
Maintain a coherent vision from the first review to long-term garden care.
Give the owner, gardener, caretaker or estate team the guidance they need to act with confidence.
The Orizon Charter
Six commitments so decisions remain understandable, interventions coherent and the garden a pleasure to live with over time.
Read the Mission, Charter & Knowledge-sharing document ↗Observe before intervening and work with natural dynamics rather than against them.

Cultivate proportion, atmosphere, plant associations and the quality of every finish.

Choose the right intervention, in the right place and at the right time. Doing more is not always doing better.

Consider the immediate result, and what the garden will become in three, five or ten years.

Share the intention, choices and gestures that enable those on site to sustain the place.

Stand behind what we deliver and bring the same care to technique, decision tracking, organisation and client relationships.

Our region
From the coast to the hills, each garden calls for a response to its light, soil and exposure.

Frequently asked questions
A first conversation with Norman helps us understand your garden, expectations and priorities. Where useful, we then suggest a visit and an assessment of the place. The scope, stages and budget are agreed with you before any work begins.
From reshaping part of a garden to overseeing a property, we assess each enquiry according to its complexity, access, schedule and the skills required. Our team and specialist contractors allow us to match resources to the project. Tell us about the place so we can confirm the scope we can undertake.
Yes. Orizon works with its own team and, when needed, specialist contractors whom we support and who follow our working methods. Norman remains your point of contact, maintaining the same standards throughout.
Yes. This can include planning and sequencing the work and keeping track of decisions. We coordinate communication to preserve the garden’s overall direction. Each contractor’s role and the extent of our coordination are agreed with you at the outset.
Orizon works with private clients, estates and residential properties throughout Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Travel feasibility and the appropriate level of support are clarified during the first conversation.
Orizon can become involved before a property purchase, when a garden feels difficult to manage, before a transformation, or simply when priorities need to become clear again.
Yes. A garden does not always need to be completely remade. An audit identifies what should be retained, improved, moved or gradually transformed.
Yes. Decision support is part of Orizon’s role. We can compare scenarios, prioritise investment and draw attention to their future implications.
Climate, soil, plant selection, the garden’s genuine needs and opportunities to capture or manage water are considered from the design stage.
Yes. Your preferred level of care is considered from the outset. The aim is not to promise a maintenance-free garden, but to design one whose needs remain compatible with your way of life.
Yes. Orizon can directly undertake the landscaping, transformation and restoration work agreed with you. Scope, stages and level of involvement are made clear before the project begins.
Yes. Orizon provides one-off or regular garden care: pruning, horticultural care, restoration and seasonal oversight. The aim is to preserve the garden’s beauty, health and coherence over time.
Yes. On site, Orizon can share how to read the garden, its seasonal priorities, respectful ways of working with soil, water and biodiversity, and what to observe before intervening. This guidance is tailored to the place and the people involved: it is neither a general course nor a standard programme.
The private client space is the living memory of the garden. Recommendations, calendar, photographs, decisions, plants, points to watch and next steps remain accessible to those who care for the place.
Depending on the agreed service, we plan visits, seasonal reviews and adjustments as the garden establishes and grows. Advice, photographs and next steps can be kept in your private client space. You can entrust us with the care or ask us to guide the people already working on site.
The applicable insurance and guarantees depend on the work and each contractor’s role. Before starting, we clarify the scope and the relevant insurance documents with you. Any additional commitments, including plant establishment guarantees, are set out in the quotation together with the agreed care and follow-up conditions.
